What am I Learning today?

I am learning how to break down complex problems into smaller parts to find a solution I am learning how to represent algorithms using structured notation

Lesson

• This is the final lesson so make sure all of of your work for this topic is in your PowerPoint.

• Add a new slide for Lesson 7.

Don't for get to create a lesson 7 button on the menu page and add a hyperlink to it!

For todays lesson we are looking for you to put everything you have learned into the creating of some mimics.

Here are the four mimics you can choose from:

1. Robot
2. Christmas Lights
3. Level Crossing
4. Train Set1
5. Train Set2

A suggested idea for each of the mimics is in each of the tasks below. See how many you can complete.

Activity 1 - The Robot

1. Use subroutines to control the Robots inputs and outputs.
2. There is a video tutorial below if you are not confident in how to get started

• Activity 2 - Santa Christmas Lights

2. There is also a video tutorial if you are not confident in how to get started

• Activity 3 - Level Crossing

To help you to understand how the Level Crossing should work watch the video below and then try and emulate that in flowol.

Activity 5 - Train set2

Watch the video below to see how Train Set 2 should work.

Summing it all up

Lets look at the learning outcomes and decide which one best describes our current level of understanding :

Learning Outcomes I need to learn how to break down complex problems into smaller parts to find a solution

• I have a basic understanding of how I can break down complex problems into smaller parts to find a solution with a little help from my teacher
• I can show my teacher that I can break down complex problems into smaller parts to find a solution without their help.
• I can break down complex problems into smaller parts to find a solution independently and I can also explain it to others and can complete any extension tasks I am given.
